Built on Industry Experience, Driven by Relationships.

Remuda Insurance Group was founded on a simple belief: insurance works best when it’s built by people who understand the industry they serve.

From caring for animals to managing property and operations, we understand the real responsibilities behind the work. Our approach is hands-on, transparent, and relationship-driven—focused on helping clients protect what matters most.

Our Story

We started Remuda Insurance Group because we are competitors first. We ride, rope, train, haul, and manage horses in the cutting, reining, barrel, and roping arenas. Many of us also come from cattle operations, so we understand the realities of both sides of the industry. We know the risks because we live them — long days, long hauls, high-stakes horses, good cattle, and the parts of this lifestyle that don’t always fit neatly into a policy form.

Too often, equine insurance is written by people who’ve never been in the warm-up pen, backed into a trailer at midnight, or made hard decisions when something goes wrong. We built Remuda to change that.

As founders and agents, we work directly with horse owners, trainers, and operations of all sizes to build coverage that reflects how you actually compete and operate. Our focus is on clarity, continuity, and long-term protection—coverage that evolves with your program and an advisor who stays involved long after the policy is bound.

Bailey Jo Lacy

Bailey Lacy was born and raised in Augusta, Kansas, and earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a certificate in Equine Science from Kansas State University. She grew up competing in the cutting horse industry, where she developed a strong foundation in performance horses. During her time at K-State, Bailey discovered a passion for the equine reproductive industry, which led her to accept a breeding internship at the 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, Texas, where she gained valuable hands-on experience and industry knowledge.

In September 2019, Bailey relocated to Stephenville, Texas, to join Brazos Valley Stallion Station, where she served as the Processing Lab Manager. She has been a licensed insurance agent since 2022 and is proud to be part of Remuda Insurance Group. Bailey is enthusiastic about the future of the company and is dedicated to using her extensive equine industry experience to serve horse owners and ranchers with professionalism and integrity.

Outside of work, Bailey enjoys showing her working cow horse, spending time with family, and supporting her husband in his farrier career.

Michaela Suter

Michaela’s career has been shaped by a lifelong involvement in agriculture and the livestock industry. Originally from the mountains of Colorado, she later moved to Laramie, Wyoming, to earn degrees in Agricultural Business and Agricultural Communications from the University of Wyoming, where she showed cattle and fully immersed herself in the livestock world. Go Pokes!

After college, Michaela began her career at Billings Livestock Commission, coordinating horse and cattle sales and helping expand the company’s online horse sale platform under the guidance of her mentor, Jann Parker. Working closely with horses and their owners gave her a firsthand understanding of equine value, risk, and the importance of having the right protection in place.

Michaela transitioned into equine insurance in 2024 and is excited to be part of Remuda Insurance Group, an agency built on deep industry experience and a commitment to exceptional service. Based in Huntley, Montana, she works directly with horse owners, breeders, and ranchers to provide clear, tailored coverage.

Brooke Johnson

My story began in sunny New Mexico and Florida, but for the past 13 years, I’ve proudly called Weatherford, TX my home. My passion for roping began at a young age, leading me to earn a breakaway roping scholarship at New Mexico State University and later graduating with a Bachelor’s in Business and Marketing from Colorado Tech.

Growing up in the roping pen and spending countless hours on horseback has shaped my deep love for the equine world. Today, I balance my time between competing, training, and sharing this passion with my amazing daughter, Bristol Sage, my husband Jase, and my two bonus kids, Jhett and Tenley.

Over the last two and a half years, my client network has grown into a family for me. What I treasure most about my work is not just finding the best coverage for your equine needs but building meaningful friendships along the way.

Whether you’re new to equine insurance or considering exploring your options, I’m here to help! Let’s chat about how I can assist you in understanding your coverage options and policy details, ensuring you make the best decision for you and your equine athletes.
